Eugenio Macuvel
Eugenio has been a choreographer since the age of 14 and artistic director of Hodi Maputo Afro Swing since the company was founded in 2014. 
Dancing and singing were a natural part of Eugenio's childhood. Over the years, he has developed choreographies with up to 50 dancers on stage, participated in the production of many artistic creations.
He has performed and choreographed all over the world, including South Africa, Sweden, China, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK.

 

Elias and Augusto Manhiça

Elias and Augusto are also known as "Gêmeos Manhiça" (Manhiça's twins). Born into a family rich in culture, they created their first cultural group in 2003, "Crianças da Paz" (Children of Peace), where music, song and dance were inseparable. They went on to create the Hodi Maputo Afro Swing Cultural Association, where Elias is now a musician and general coordinator of the Mozambique Afro Swing Exchange Festival.
They are also the leaders of the group Banda Hodi, whose popularity continues to grow in Mozambique. Over the course of their career, they have performed in Sweden, China, South Africa, Belgium, Denmark, Côte d'Ivoire, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Brazil,
Germany, the Netherlands, Brazil at the Festival Folclórico de Passo Fundo and New York at Frankie Manning's 100th birthday celebrations.
